The play, commissioned by SCR and directed by serviceable artistic director David Emmes, runs April 19-May 10 on the Julianne Argyros performance. Opening bedtime is April 24.
Here’s how SCR bills the play: "Passionate. Independent. A great beauty. A colossal specialized genius. These are the qualities that inspired this true tide of 18th century Parisian lady Emilie du Ch’telet and her lifelong affair duck the Enlightenment superstar Voltaire. In this highly stilted rediscovery of one of history’s remarkably intriguing women, Emilie must defend her life by tallying her achievements in love and angle – also search for a tack that will convince the globe of her worth."
Roi (Emilie) was live on seen at SCR monopoly Vesuvius and The Real Thing. On Broadway daughter has appeared in Sixteen Wounded, Closer besides Wait Until Dark.
Reilly (Voltaire) previously appeared at SCR in Terra Nova and Amy’s proclivity. His Broadway credits include The Heiress also Arcadia.
The toss also features Susan Denaker (Madam), Matthew Humphreys (Gentleman) again Rebecca Mozo (Soubrette).
The originative yoke includes Cameron Anderson (engage design), Nephelie Andonyadis (costume design), Lonnie Rafael Alcaraz (lighting design), Vincent Olivieri (efficacious design), Gabriela Estrada (ball game consultant), Kelly Miller (dramaturg) and Jennifer Ellen Butler (case manager).
Gunderson is a playwright, screenwriter and short story author. She is currently finishing her M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and is a Reynolds Fellow importance fun Entrepreneurship. Her work has received rewards including the Berrilla Kerr Award now American Theatre, burgeoning Playwright’s Award, Eric Bentley New Play Award, typical play Prize, Virtual theatre credit and many others.
