Reflecting on the artistic life and legacy of Michael Jackson
An icon. An artist. A legend. Michael Jackson the man who changed the face of pop culture forever, has died at age 50 on 25 June 2009. Who was this man they call the King of Pop?
Born in Gary, Indiana, Michael Jackson was the seventh of nine children. He and his four older brothers showed early talent for playing music, singing and dancing, he was encouraged by their parents. At five years, Michael made his professional debut as a singer with the Jackson Five. The Jackson 5 became the artists working, and had no time for normal activities of youth or experience. After a competition to New York City famous Apollo Theater, the Jackson Five signed a recording contract with the prestigious Motown Records. In their years together, from 1964 – 1981, sold over 100 million records.
In the center of attention as the singer with the Jackson Five, it seemed natural that Michael Jackson could go it alone. His debut solo album in 1972, Got To Be There, he began a long line of successes, and finally left her the Jackson 5 in 1981.
Michael Jackson went to make a career as a choreographer amazing heights writer and the list goes on. I just remember exclusion around the TV with family and friends every time you went out with a new video. We all gathered around as if it were the Super Bowl or something for this great event. Everybody ran home and leave everything they were doing, shopping, cooking, etc. .. to see this icon. Every time he surprises us with his talent without explanation and we were amazed at this man they call the King of Pop. Shortly after the children who would be trying to make their moves and dance like him.
Throughout its confusion with all the tabloids and the control that was somehow still Michael Jackson in the eyes of all around the world. How can a person who touches so many in all parts of the universe. I have not seen anything like it. The man is so popular, even his death has stifled the problems in Iran.
Michael Jackson was a humble, very talented, sensitive and humane human being. We will miss him and will never be another like him in this life. May he rest in peace and your family can be blessed in this troubled time.
