In Color My Heart, the main character is stuck in a world in black and white called B & W, where the absence of color translates into a lack of emotion and love. Players take control of the main character and may move around him to explore the site. There are a number of things that can be clicked around the area. By clicking on different things trigger events. Most of these events are not important to reach the end of the game, but are simply there to add the game it’s almost monochromatic.
There is a fairly simple way that players can follow that leads to the end of the game. For serious players, reaching the end of the game can take less than a minute, but running through the game, players lose the creative expression that the creator of the game is trying to convey.
For those interested in how the game ends, the protagonist ends up finding a land of color. He meets a girl there, fall in love, and the game ends.
The Work of Art in Color My heart is like a large drawing or outline of a city, and this is the visual effect, which adds further to the gloom of the game.
The song used in the game is entitled [oove] Heartbeats and was created by user broove Newgrounds.com. The song has been submitted to Newgrounds.com on Janurary 10, 2009. The song is played on repeat throughout Color My Heart "and contributes in large measure the emotional impact on players of the game.
Color My Heart "took me by surprise. I was just looking for a game to play, but stumbled upon this instead. However, I’m glad I found this, though it was by accident. The basic concept is very different and intriguing. The artwork is visually stunning, or at least as stunning as sketches can get. And the music is very touching. Since this was more than a piece of art than a game, I will not do it Guest. Instead, I just recommend to those who are looking for something different creatively. But if you are looking for a real game to play, that’s not what you want.
